When I first heard ”The Islander” I was completely sold. When I read the lyrics through I was moved by the story in it. I almost felt I was adapting a five minute fantasy movie screenplay with a finished score.

The Islander is not a traditional Nightwish song, but a beautiful mixture of an acoustic rock ballad and a celtic folk tune; what a great omelet. The story was there in the song but it was a common goal to spice it up a little. The video hopefully matches the original vision of Nightwish; a band playing by campfire, telling stories of forgotten characters.

The video was shot in the Heart of Lapland, Rovaniemi, in the beginning of October. The location (Vammavaara) was almost too good to be true. It was an endless sea of rocks where every false step could have meant a broken leg… or worse. That said everything tricky usually looks so beautiful it can’t be described by words.

Lovex is a band that is always fun to shoot because of their energetic performance. This time we had to slow them down a little by shooting most of the material in high speed. This Lovex song blew my mind and the goal was also to make a mind blowing video with a tight schedule. I hope you enjoy the result. More information on the video will follow.

Carnival of rust is an award winning song with an award winning video. The video was voted the best Finnish music video of all time (YLE – Largest non commercial channel in Finland) and the best video of 2006 (YLE AUDIENCE MUUVI & Voice TV). Guardian Angel won the AUDIENCE MUUVI 2005 (The Best Finnish Music Video voted by the Finnish viewers). The song was also the most played hit single of 2005. Lovex really hit the publicity with this song and now the guys are just not safe anymore, not even from me. More information on the video will follow.

Locking up the Sun was perhaps my longest and hardest road in music video planning. Locking up the Sun was a video where we had to show a different kind of POTF since this was their first release on single that wasn’t really about love. More information on the video will follow.
